APPOINTMENTS - Our offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Appointments may be made by calling (828) 253-7521 or 1-877-FIX-HAND (349-4263). Appointments for surgery are coordinated by our surgery scheduler. What do I need to bring for my first appointment? You will need to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. We ask that you bring your insurance cards, a list of medications, and information about your medical and surgical history. You are invited to print a copy of our patient forms by clicking the Forms link on the left side of this page. These forms are in .pdf format, you may download a copy of Acrobat Reader® if you don't already have it on your computer.  What kind of problems do you treat? Traumatic Injuries - Amputations, fractures, injuries to tendons, nerves, blood vessels, crush injuries. Arthritis - Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoarthritis. Cumulative trauma disorders - Carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, rotator cuff (shoulder) problems. Congenital (birth) hand deformities - Syndactyly (webbed fingers), Polydactyly (extra fingers), Trigger thumb (stenosing tenosynovitis).
Is surgery the only treatment option? The field of Hand Surgery deals with both surgical and non-surgical treatment of upper extremity injuries or conditions. The physicians at Carolina Hand and Sports Medicine, PA will discuss all of the treatment options with you. Do I need a referral? If your insurance provider requires that you have a referral, it is your responsibility to obtain it. We ask that a referral is received in our office prior to your first appointment.
